Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology
Committed to helping individuals pursue their passion for others, the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology provides students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experiences to pursue careers in the field. The program is flexible and requires a total of 48 or 60 credits, depending on the professional goals of individual students, whether they seek licensure or not. Students have the ability to select from two specializations: child and adolescent counseling and social justice community counseling. All students complete coursework in general counseling psychology and then choose additional courses in their chosen specialization. The core courses include career counseling, advanced life span development, group counseling, research methods in counseling, advanced counseling techniques, advanced multicultural counseling, advanced psychological assessment, and concepts of psychopathology. Both programs include a practicum and internship component to enable students to gain practical experience to prepare them for future career roles. Graduates are prepared to work as highly qualified practitioners in the mental health field and engage in counseling research.

Tracing its roots back to 1743, the University of Delaware is a private, state-assisted institution of higher learning. M.A./Ed.S. in School Psychology
The M.A./Ed.S. in School Psychology program features small classes, a highly productive and caring faculty, and excellent students. The program adheres to a scientist/practitioner model to provide students with a sound foundation in psychological theory and research. Three years of full-time study is necessary for completion of the program. After the first year of coursework, students must pass a comprehensive examination to be awarded the M.A. in school psychology. They then continue their education to earn the Educational Specialist in school psychology. The M.A. component requires 30 credits and the Ed.S requires 30 additional credits and a 1,200-hour internship. The core courses of the program include introduction to school psychology, individual intelligence testing, psychological assessment of children, advanced counseling techniques, child psychopathology, child neuropsychology, and school-based family issues and interventions. The program also includes laboratory and practicum components. The program also requires a passing score on the PRAXIS examination in school psychology and completion of a professional portfolio.
